The Château du Mourre Du Tendre is a family estate situated on fine vine-growing land in the heart of Provence.

The PAUMEL family has been working the vines here for several generations.

In the nineteen-forties, Alphonse initiated a new phase of development and co-founded the Bacchic brotherhood known as Li Coumpaire de la souco. Throughout his life he worked ceaselessly to glorify the vine, wine and the winemaker’s art.

In 1962, Jacques took the destiny of the estate in hand, reshaping and expanding it while preserving family traditions.

T he vineyard is managed using traditional techniques.
No insecticide has been used since the estate was taken over by Jacques PAUMEL.
Yields are low.

Harvesting is by hand, grapes being sorted twice and not destemmed.
The vat period is long so as to extract as much colour and aroma as possible.
Classic and powerful wines are produced using a traditional process.
The wine is bottled on the estate without filtering: it is simply drawn off the dregs and clarified once
This helps the wines to age well and to become GREAT WINES FOR LAYING DOWN.
So don’t be surprised to find a deposit at the bottom of your bottle : this is a sign of quality and proof that the wine will keep well.

This wine is very concentrated, powerful and fine. The wine-making process is carried out with great care, using an age-old method. It will age extremely well. Red vintage 2001 - 2002 - 2003 - 2004. Varieties: grenache, mourvèdre

This full-bodied wine comes from the oldest Côtes du Rhône vines on the estate.       Red vintage 2001 - 2002 - 2003 - 2004. Varietes: grenache, mourvèdre
